Valen Quest
- High Concept:
A simple turn-based RPG with a Valentine's Day themed story.
- Player Experience Goals:
Experience the joy of turn-based RPG gameplay in its simplest form.
- Genre:
Turn-based Menu RPG
- Game play:
Use the mouse to navigate menus, buy items and equipment, and select battle actions. In battle, selecting the 'counter' action gives you a 20% chance of deflecting enemy attack and retaliating with 500% damage. Failing the counter makes the player take 50% more damage. Attacking subtracts player's attack stat from the enemy's HP, but has a 10% miss rate. Successful attacks increase the counter chance by 5% up to 35%. Using the counter action resets the counter chance to 20%. Running will end the battle and send the player back to town with full health, but the player loses 25% of their total gold. The player can buy items and equipment at the shop or choose to battle a monster. The goal is to accumulate enough gold to buy the ring in the shop. If the player gets the ring or dies, the game is over.
- Prototype goal:
Explore game states and menu navigation, as well as light RPG mechanics.
- Features:
Simple turn-based RPG gameplay.
